Message from the Principal

Welcome to Newhart's School Loop Website.

We are proud of the school we are building at Newhart and it gets better and better every year. We, the staff, can't take all the credit because we have an awesome community and amazing students, but as you go through the year or navigate through this website, you too will see why Newhart is such an awesome place.

Take a peek at my slideshow below...I sure have a great time with a ton of great people. Below the slideshow is the vision we have for Newhart. It may be lofty but we have the staff and the resolve to make it happen. Do you think you can help?  Have a great time "surfing" our website and be sure to say "Hi" to me around campus.

With Panther Pride,

George Knights

An Envisioned Future

 Newhart Middle School

An Envisioned Future

“Learning for All…All for Learning.”

Purpose/Mission:

High levels of learning for all students is both the reason our school exists and the fundamental responsibility of the Newhart Middle School community.

Stretch Visions for the Future:

We can see a future at Newhart Middle School...

  1. …where 100% of our students are proficient in all subject areas as measured by CST/STAR data and/or Newhart course summative assessment of course/State standards.
  2. …where Failure is not accepted (as measured by end of quarter Newhart course grades).

Action Areas:

  • Interventions: We will create systematic intervention programs so that no child falls through the cracks and receives timely intervention when learning is not happening. This is particularly true for English Language Learners and At Risk students.

  • Collaborative Culture: We will build into the practice of every teacher the culture of effective collaboration to inform instructional decisions.

  • Academic literacy: We will ensure that all students, campus wide, are proficient in academic literacy.

  • Communication: We will efficiently, pro-actively, and in a timely manner communicate with our entire learning community (teachers/staff, students, and families).

  • School Climate: We will build a school climate where excellent behavior is expected, a warm and friendly environment is maintained, positive school spirit is experienced by all, recognition of remarkable effort and achievement is celebrated (teachers too!), and school facilities reflect ownership of a thriving school community.
