The week will end with grade level assemblies focused on drug awareness and prevention

Our 6th graders will be attending an assembly about drug awareness and prevention from a School Resource Officer from the Orange County Sheriff’s department.

Our 7th graders will be attending an assembly hosted by “The Other Side”. The Other Side is a revolutionary new approach to inspiring our youth to make their teen years drug and alcohol free.

Our 8th graders will be attending as assembly on “Overtaken”.  ‘Overtaken’ is an important video that highlights the crisis of youth drug abuse, which has risen to an epidemic level in our communities.

Both of the 7th and 8th grade presentations were created by two local parents, Jodi Barber and Christine Brant, who set a goal to educate young people and save lives.  Both presentations address drug use and reasons to stay sober through frank interviews with young people and adults with firsthand experience in the crisis. The filmmakers and some of the people interviewed in the movie will be present to follow up with further information and questions the students might have about the film.

Our goal in holding the assemblies is to raise the awareness of our kids and to prevent further tragedies from occurring.

If you would like to view a preview of the movies, you can see them at these links:
